Circus Dannebrog premiere.

Circus Dannebrog (Denmark) are ready for their summer tour with lots of nice artists on the program. The premiere was April 2nd in Kolding. For the new season Circus Dannebrog bought a new gradin to give the spectators a much better view.

The program was led by director Haddy Enoch and for the second year in a row he was only seen in the performance in the start and finish. As last year it was not Haddie Enoch performing the horses but his daughter – Katja Enoch.

First act was Tsytko seen last year in Circus Olympia (Sweden) doing a very nice mix of antipode and Ikarian game act. They are in a very high level and is a nice start on a performance.

The reprise and entree clowns Di Lellos was next with a funny ballet.

Mariana and Igor Markeviech with a nice dog act. They did a nice job and the act wasn’t so long as seen in Circus Merano last year and Brazil Jack in the 2002 season. I’m sure that the Markeviech could do a whole performance alone but here in Dannebrog the length of the entrée was nice. The dogs a very well trained and very funny.

The Haddie family – did a brand new bike entrée. As always in a nice tempo but this year with a lot of kids and family members. The boss of the act was Dennie Enoch and his son Jimmy. Bike acts is a tradition in the Enoch family and this year in a more modern atmosphere.

Katja Enoch presented the Dannebrog horses in a traditional horse entrée. The act includes 4 ponies mixed with four horses in normal size. The act was exactly the same as the performance from the 2003 season, where Isabella took over the act from her dad Haddy Enoch.

Duo Yingling kautchuk and antipode. The second act with antipode in the same performance but very different from the first. Very nice and feminine entrée form those two traditional Chinese girls.

Cassellys camels – a nice and traditional Camel act. A few years ago there wasen´t many camels in Scandinavian circus but in these days almost all circus has camels on the program. They are nice and exsotic and very slow but it seems that Casselly manage to speed up the animals a bit. The act was okay.

Isabella Enoch in solo trapeze did again a new entree. She is nice and smooth with an international class.

Two Steckels tha Danish cascadeur act. Freddy Steckel and his new partner for this 2004 summer season Isabella Enoch was as always very nice. Freddy Steckel was in 2003 in Sweden with Circus Maximum and for the 2002 summer tour with circus Merano in Norway. Freddy is a very nice entertainer with a lot of success and his act is always in a very high level. Freddy and Isabella needs a little more training together to reach the level for the past seasons but I´m sure that they will be better and better together in a few weeks..

Barneys Angles – Baby and Rambo two female African Elephants performed by Caselly. Nice act with a nice tempo and it seems that the elephants enjoy performing

Trio Nikita- Spring board act. A little slow in the beginning but later in the act, they gained a nice level. The entrée was a little short but nice.

Performance took 2 hours and 15 min including a 15 min break.

The performance was sold out.

The sound in the performance was better than last year or I was seated better than last time. But as last year, it is still my opinion that Dannebrog needs a much better sound. A few years ago Circus Dannebrog could present one of the greatest circus bands in Scandinavia and I hope, that in the future they will reconsider to pay for live music again.
